"We all have dogs. Of course, I had the only female,
and she chose this extraordinarily inopportune time to go into heat,
and I had the tremendous lack of taste to write a song about it.
And as sort of a thank you for coming here,
I'm going to continue with that bad judgment
and leave you with it here, if I could.
What got into Lijah' I just can't say.
I guess she started reaching the curious age
and she had this aroma she was sending all over the land.
And in every back yard for four or five miles
every male dog was howling and going so wild.
They were driving their owners crazy, but they didn't care.
Dog love was in the air.

you try to bring them up right. You feed them Alpo.
You keep them tied at night. You try to teach them morals.
You try to teach them about society.
You hope maybe they will marry some rich, purebred,
doctor's dog from ******head."
